'...it's like photography on speed..'

Stop Motion Animation, Delights & Craves:

The new Amazon Kindle Commercial created by the immensely talented Angela Kohler (which only took her seven hours to do!). This lady is a machine.

and lastly... A super creative invitation that I have been looking for a reason to post for a month of Tuesdays. M79 by Vampire Weekend is a fine accompaniment.

Handwriting to flourish about

I'm so in love with Jenna Hein's hand addressed envelopes from here that I have been contemplating buying my own flexible nib pen. After several failed attempts with my craft store drip pen to create Spencerian and Copperplate Styles, I began to wonder if it was pure inexperience (yes!) or the product of the wrong pen (and yes!). It turns out, Flex Pen Nibs are the way to go for beautiful flourishes. I ordered mine from UK based Scribblers after talking to the talented Katy at K is for Calligraphy.

I ran across a DIY Calligraphy starter guide on Martha Stewart that is semi-helpful for beginners. If anything, it could show you what you need for writing your family Christmas letter. If you are planning to hire someone to hand address your wedding invitations, or hire someone on a professional scale, talk to someone like Jenna or Sarah Hanna, who has equally mad writing skills.

A Peacock & Moroccan Themed Bridal Shower

This was a lovely shower hosted by a lovely lady named Tamina for her little sister, Saadia. It was held at the Hotel Palomar in Dallas, and was my second time for planning an event there. What a relaxing facility! The ingredients allowed for a sweet and sentimental shower... just like Saadia. We also did the invitations for the shower, with inspiration from Bollywood!

Saadia's wedding is going to be the blow-out of the century with 500 guests, a Mehndi party and three days of celebrating!

Snapping photos as the guests arrive...
A few elements:
The cake was from Society Bakery- didn't they do a great job? I loved the outcome of the cake. I gave them free reign and a picture and let them after it. Sometimes giving others creative control pays off. The flowers were by yours truly in a pinch.

Monday Motivation

Jessica Claire is an extraordinary photographer. She captured me in an instance when I stumbled upon photos of an engagement shoot at the Beverly Hills SLS Hotel.

But no, it's not just the incredible furnishings or her archetypal clients, it's the photographic energy that speaks volumes. I began following her work via her blog-site (yes! a site that is also a blog!) and even in a industry of inspiring blog madness, I couldn't get her beautiful images of oversized mirrors at the posterior of a gorgeous couple out of my mind.

It's obvious that:

1. She lives and loves her work.

2. Her clients are exponentially awesome.

3. She can find inspiration in unwieldy settings.

4. I'm crazy about her photography!

If ever I leave Texas and move to California, have a second wedding, and rent out the ENTIRE ROOFTOP FLOOR of the SLS, calling JC is at the top of my to-do list!
